Technology in my Life - Resources now available

Teacher-led Workshops

A guide for primary school pupils and teachers in AI ethics.

As part of our STEM work and research, we have been working with the SFI centre ADAPT and have concluded phase one of a new ‘Technology in My Life’ programme which engages primary school students (aged 10-13 years) in teacher-led workshops on the ethical use of technology.

Seven modules - each with it's own theme!

These modular teacher-led workshops explore how to use technology in an ethically correct manner and in accordance with the moral and ethical standards of the school, the children’s home, and society in general.

The programme is designed to inform and empower students on topics including:

  • The technologies primary school students should be allowed to access, the use of technology (such as voice assistants) for help with homework.
  • Using the Internet and social media for contacting friends and getting information.
  • Identifying and dealing with cyberbullying and other forms of unethical and undesirable behaviour facilitated by technology.

Technology in My Life will equip primary school teachers to bring their students on a journey of exploration, which will challenge them to use critical thinking and problem solving to reflect on the role and use of AI in their lives.
