October 2024 - MidTerm Camps

Poster for October MidTerm STEM Camps

October Mid Term STEM Camps @ CRAFT Maker Space - October 29th to 31st

Join us to visit the Science to Medicine exhibition in association with Regeneron this midterm and whilst there take part in our fun and interesting workshops.

First up on Tuesday 29th October we have a Bee Bots workshop for 6 to 7 year olds. Bee Bots, the friendly programmable floor robots, are the perfect introduction to programming, teaching children sequencing, directional language, commands, and algorithms. They move in precise 15cm steps and execute 90-degree turns (a quarter turn), making learning both captivating and interactive. They allow for limitless exploration, on specially designed mats or custom ones, Bee Bots can take your child on an adventures in colors, shapes, geography, language arts, mathematics, and science.

On Wednesday 30th October we have Circuit Challenges for 8 to 10 year olds. In this workshop children will have the opportunity to experiment with circuits, learning the basics of electricity flow and how to create simple circuits. We will emphasize safety precautions and ensure that your child understands how to correctly connect the components. We will also introduce LEDs as a versatile and innovative component in circuits, highlighting their unique characteristics. Each child will learn how to use LEDs to create and illuminate their own greeting card, adding this interactive element to their project, including how to incorporate switches to control the LED lights.

Again on Thursday 31st October we will have a Circuit Challenges workshop, this time for 11 to 12 year olds.

Workshops begin at 10am and will run until 1pm each day.
